Easy Christmas Crafts with This Tribe of Three

The holidays are around the corner and I just can't help but get caught up in the magic of the twinkle lights, hot coco and sharing some of my favorite holiday crafts with Winter. Winter is slowly growing out of the "I put everything in my mouth to make sure it's real" phase, so I figured I would take a stab at making a gingerbread house with her. To be on the safe side, I stuck on the larger pieces of candy and let them dry before I introduced the gingerbread house to Winter.

Winter helped me by squeezing the icing tube and snuck in a few small pinhead sized candies in her mouth from time to time (which was a real treat since she has only had sugar a few other times in her life). We improvised a little and used Cheerios because they are currently her favorite.

I am keeping a list of holiday traditions that both Perry and I enjoyed when were little and while I know our list will continue to evolve, I am really looking forward to sharing each and every one with Winter. Overall, the gingerbread house activity went well although the final result is nothing to write home about. I'll be the first to say that I am no Martha Stewart. Oh well, I am focusing much more on the process these days than the final outcome. I find that it helps me lower my expectations which allows me to stay present :)

Winter is wearing the perfect Christmas crafting bodysuit by This Tribe of Three. She reminds me of a candy cane or mint when she wears it and I can't get enough of those puffy sleeves.  I value the craftsmanship and creativeness that Stephanie, the owner, puts into everyone of her pieces. They are so unique and I haven't seen anything quite like it. It always warms my heart to work with small shops and if it were up to me (which I think it still is?!), Winter would wear this line on a daily basis!
