20-Week Bump Update

I cannot believe that we are halfway through this pregnancy journey with baby #2. Yesterday we had an anatomy scan. The doctor that performed the scan was about to retire, yet his joy for seeing the baby was like he had just started his job. Seriously, he was the jolliest old man. He kept saying that he had never seen a baby smile so much and commenting about how cute the baby was. It made me even more excited for this baby to come. Winter and Perry went to the appointment, and it was so lovely to hear Winter talk about what she saw on the screen and ask questions about her baby brother or sister. We feel so blessed to know that this baby is healthy.

BABY LAROCK BUMP UPDATE

HOW FAR ALONG ARE YOU?

I am 20 weeks. Perry felt the baby kick for the first time just a few days ago. This baby isn't as active as Winter was (I am hoping that means he or she has a calm temperament), so I was surprised that Perry was able to feel the baby move.

HOW DO YOU FEEL PHYSICALLY? EMOTIONALLY?

Physically: I still throw up at least two times a week. I had a seven-day migraine recently that about put me over the edge. In one week I saw the chiropractor twice, the acupuncturist once and got a massage. Sorry, health savings account because I was practically like, "Take all my money. I need to feel better!"
Emotionally: I have felt a little irritable these last few days. I am not sure where it is stemming from, but I am hoping that I can rebound to my happy-go-lucky self soon.

MY GO-TO OUTFIT RIGHT NOW?

I was in San Diego last weekend. When I got home Perry commented on how much I had popped over the weekend. So right now I am loving anything really flowy like this Free People dress and this bralet.

ANY BODY CHANGES?

I no longer even look at regular jeans in my closet. Nope, those suckers aren't making their way over my hips. I just got a pair of maternity jeans and they are so much more comfortable than using a belly band.

Also, I have really noticed how much tension I am carrying in my neck and shoulders and decided recently it was time to start using the maternity pillow!

SLEEP?

I take naps about one to two times per week. Whenever I do, I let Winter skip the crib and instead have her join me in our bed. There have been so many special moments spent lying next to her that I will etch in my heart for forever.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO?

Having more energy. I still feel super fatigued and haven't worked out at all beyond walking. I really want to swim and go to a few yoga classes. My soul and body are craving exercise.

FOOD CRAVINGS OR AVERSIONS?

Still loving iced tea. I also love chicken salad and jalapeño chips (spicy food hasn't bothered me). Not craving sweets at all, so Perry get a double serving, but you can give me all the salt in the shaker!!!
