The Perfect Velvet Valentine's Day Dress

When I was pregnant with Winter, I bought this amazing velvet green dress at Goodwill. I never ended up wearing it and wish so badly I would have gotten a picture of my bump in it. When I bought it, velvet was nowhere to be found in stores, but just a few short years later, velvet seems to be the new (old?) latest trend. And I am all for it!

This swift dress from Nordstrom is the perfect mix of retro and elegance. I like how it's not too formal, and I can't get enough of the hints of romance with the open back and bishop sleeves. It is a wee bit short when you put your arms up, so I think it would look great with some black tights and ankle boots.
