So a few days ago, I decided to take a break from all the fertility stuff such as ovulation strip testing, temperature taking, and app tracking. Instead of doing those things first thing in the morning, I took a vow to write in my gratitude journal. I have been doing it for a few days. It takes literally 30 seconds and I write the first thing that comes to my mind. This is the journal I got to write in. Last month, I decided to give Nordstrom's Trunk Club a shot (you can read my initial review, here). Trunk Club is a personalized styling service that sends you clothes right to your doorstep.

I remember when Perry and I bought our first home, we used our bed as the couch, ate pizza on the floor and stayed up until the wee hours beaming with glee as we talked about our future. When we moved, we essentially purged or donated our every piece of furniture that we had (which was an eclectic mix of goodwill finds and Ikea) so that we could start over and buy pieces that we know would stay in our household for many years to come.

I already get emotional when I think how one day she won't be the only child that has stolen my heart (and I am not even pregnant yet). I want to breathe in as many moments with her before our family size does grow. At our baby shower, my sweet friend suggested that we ask the guests to bring a book with a handwritten message to our baby in it. I am so grateful that she suggested it because Winter and I spend a lot of time reading together and when I read those sweet messages from my friends and family, I get a lovely rush of joy.

I love the smell of the crisp autumn air, the leaves changing and blowing in the wind, and last but not least, all the fall dresses. This dress is from Vida Moulin, a boutique from my hometime, Phoenix. I wore it this past weekend to a wedding, and it made for the BEST dancing dress. Weekends may as well be the best invention in the whole wide world. It's a way to slow down, enjoy ignoring the to-do list and spend quality time with family. I have been doing a ton of reading on how I can bring mindful living into my everyday life as a working mother. I have noticed that mindfulness has helped me to stay centered, calm and grateful for the here and now. I am less reactive and a whole lot more patient. I feel less overwhelmed by the demands of motherhood and I notice myself having thoughts of gratitude.
